Sigmavision agrees sale of Tyre Manufacturing Measurement Systems to BST eltromat GmbH.
Sigmavision Ltd is pleased to announce that a product sale was agreed with BST eltromat GmbH on 22nd December 2014. Under the terms of the agreement, BST eltromat has acquired the product rights for offline and online laser profiling systems and laser measurement systems for web guiding applications.
The agreement represents a significant opportunity for the global tyre manufacturing industry to benefit from laser measurement technology developed by Sigmavision that will now be further enhanced and supported on a global scale by BST eltromat. The agreement will also allow Sigmavision to focus more on its patented “TreadReader” tyre measurement technology for the tyre aftermarket.
Dr Andrew Pryce, Sigmavision’s Managing Director, commented “The integration of Sigmavision’s measurement technology into BST eltromat’s product portfolio will occur during a short transition period. The sale represents a win for both parties and we are delighted BST eltromat, a global leader in the tyre manufacturing equipment industry, are adding our laser measurement systems to their already impressive product portfolio. Our main focus is now to rapidly grow our TreadReader tyre measurement technology for the tyre aftermarket following a successful launch in the passenger car garage equipment sector by Hunter Engineering Company. This year will be a very exciting year with further TreadReader product launches scheduled throughout 2015.”
